According to the instructions of the State Peace and Development Council, the construction of Panglong University was started on 6th Waxing of Warso, 1364 ME, on July 15, 2002 and successfully opened on 10th Waxing of Tabodwe, 1364 ME, on February 11, 2003 to develop Panglong, the root of Union Spirit born, into a comprehensive development region.

Panglong University is located in Loilem District, Loilem Township, Panglong, H Nan Village tract, the northern part of the ancient capital of Nang-Jin-Pu, near the Panglong-LaiKha Road.
